Following a tease at the end of last year, Rockstar Games are set to begin Lunar New Year festivities in GTA Online this week. Details of what will come to the game on Thursday have been published to the game’s loading screen messages early revealing some of the surprises.
In the previous tease from Rockstar, we learned about new stunt races with a Lunar twist. Now we know they will arrive on Thursday as spotted by Tez2. According to the loading screen message, Rockstar’s Lunar New Year Event Week will begin on January 23rd and last through the 29th. To celebrate the Year of the Snake, the Lunar New Year Stunt Races will come to the game. These should shake up the race format and excite players.
Plus, Yuanbao Collectibles will be introduced. Dozens of these items will be placed across the map of Southern San Andreas. These are golden objects and come in 3 variants. Collecting any of them will earn you cash and RP. There will also be a reward for finding all of them.
On top of that, Rockstar will also be offering special gifts and more when you log into GTA Online from Thursday. Last year we received Dragon Masks and other clothing items. Based on the image from the loading screen and datamined files, we can expect a golden snake livery too.
