A new GTA 6 detail has leaked and this one comes straight from one of the game’s developers. Most leaks for this game are not real but in this case we have something that has been said directly by a person who has spent a few years working on the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series.
This information was first spotted by Reddit user esketitethan who posted a screenshot from a former Rockstar Games developer’s Linkedin profile. They were a Graphics Programmer at the company.
In the section dedicated to their work experience at Rockstar dated February 2020 through April 2023, the Graphics Programmer notes they specifically worked on Grand Theft Auto 6.
Next Gen Graphics Work

Now for the most interesting part. The developer lists a number of their responsibilities. This included taking the lead on “the next generation procedural breakable glass system for vehicles and props”. GTA V’s vehicle glass breaking was very good for its time and it will be exciting to see the leaps made by the staff with GTA VI.
On top of that, this developer was an integral part in designing the tools used by others at the studio to capture in-game footage with extra details from their rendering system. This could be for trailers, screenshots and the like. The also briefly mention they “fixed and improved various rendering systems”.
Since the Reddit post gained traction, all of this information was removed by the developer from Linkedin account.
This is not the first time a GTA VI developer has leaked things in a public way such as this. A few months ago, we saw a few work-in-progress images of animations made for the game published by an animator. Learn more here.
