As GTA 6 got delayed publicly for a second time this week, multiple long-time staff members have exited the company too. Whilst these two events are unrelated, the timing is curious and will raise questions. We’ll be taking a look at the situation in more detail.
We are the first to report that a few developers who were part of the Rockstar International office left late this week. That’s according to posts made by the staff themselves on LinkedIn. Whilst employees leave workplaces all the time, there are a couple of noteworthy details that may raise eyebrows.
Delving Deeper
All of the employees that announced they have left Rockstar Games this week were part of the communications team within the London-based studio. Some of the individuals had an almost two decade tenure at the company. These are long-serving staffers that have been part of many Rockstar Games titles.
Rockstar International is the office that handles a lot of the social media, community management and more. At the time of writing, there are currently no job listings for Rockstar International on the Rockstar Games careers website.

The posts made on LinkedIn were all positive and only had good things to say about their long careers at Rockstar. Each of them are currently taking time off from work but also looking for future employment on LinkedIn. This means have not left to go and work at another studio. Patterns can be seen and are nothing to do with the recent firings made by Rockstar nor the protests that took place.
They could have left for a number of reasons, Contracts might be up and with yet another 6 month extension to GTA VI’s development, some people might just be ready to move on. Meanwhile Take-Two, Rockstar’s parent company, announced a cost reduction program in 2023 and 5% of the workforce would be laid off as of 2024.
