Fan favourite GTA V graphics mod, NaturalVision Evolved is getting a brand new version for the recent GTA V Enhanced release. Titled NaturalVision Enhanced, this new iteration of the popular mod will expand the capabilities of the ray tracing seen in GTA V Enhanced. We have screenshots, details and a release date from Razed, the person behind the mod.
What’s So Good About It?
Rockstar Games‘ recent release of GTA V Enhanced brought a few ray tracing technologies to Southern San Andreas. Whilst two of them featured on the current gen console release, things like ray traced global illumination were new in this PC version. The effect it has on the game is quite remarkable in many areas. It makes the game look more like real life.
This mod goes further by adding things such as volumetric clouds. It also unlocks graphics upgrades not found in the base game. According to Razed, he discovered an unused feature in GTA V Enhanced which allows for additional shadows to be cast from from all light sources. This applies even more depth and small details to everything in the game. He was able to enable it with this mod and the results are stunning. You can see for yourself in the screenshot below.

It is a shame Rockstar did not put this in the base game but at least there is a free mod to enable it. Razed also stated he reworked how light adaptation works in Natural Vision Enhanced. It is said to be “smooth and works all over the map now” compared to previous versions. Each weather variation has been reworked in several ways too.
Also, there will be a menu that lets you turn off or on the upgraded RTGI and RTAO. This also occurs in real time and you can increase night time RTGI too. Below is a comparison of the game running with the base RTGI and RTAO on the left and on the right is with NaturalVision’s upgrades on. Click on the images to view in full screen.
