Grand Theft Auto V is set to make a return to Xbox Game Pass later this month, giving subscribers on console and PC another chance to experience the game at no extra cost. Additionally, the game will be supported on xCloud, meaning you can take your Los Santos adventures anywhere—whether on your phone, tablet, or even a TV without a console, as long as you have the right accessories.
This marks yet another comeback for GTA V on Microsoft’s subscription service, having previously rotated in and out of the Game Pass library several times over the past few years. With its availability across multiple platforms, players will be able to explore Story Mode or jump straight into GTA Online.
The news was first shared by trusted Rockstar insider @videotechuk_ (Ben), who revealed the details after receiving an official email. Where he also confirmed availability for xCloud after being questioned on it in his posts comments. ‘Rockstar says GTAV is coming to PC Game Pass and Game Pass for console “later this month” in an email sent to us community pages. For those who love playing GTAV on xCloud will be glad to hear it’s coming on there too, also confirmed by them.’
It’s currently unclear whether Game Pass users will get access to the recently released enhanced edition for PC, which features ray-tracing upgrades and other quality of life improvements, or if they’ll be stuck with the older version. Rockstar and Microsoft haven’t confirmed which edition will be included. If it’s the standard version, PC players hoping for the latest visual upgrades might be out of luck. Game Pass support was added for both versions in a Rockstar Games Launcher update last month.
