The fan favourite GTA V graphics mod, NaturalVision Evolved, has just received its first update of the year bringing new improvements. For those unaware, this mod makes GTA V look even more realistic compared to the base game from 2013. Last year saw the mod get several major upgrades from start to finish. It was the biggest year for the mod yet.
Much like usual, Razed who leads development team behind the mod shared a new post on their Patreon detailing the January 2025 update. There is also the typical accompanying trailer showing off the majority of the update’s changes. We’ll be taking a look at all the update features below.
January 2025 Update Features
New Volumetric Effects

A brand new volumetric Aurora Borealis effect stuns in the sky at night. Players can actually toggle this on or off plus switch color presets by using the NVE ReShade menu. Also, the Extrasunny weather effect now has horizon volumetric clouds. A fix has been issued when volumetric cloud shadows were not appearing.
Improved Rain Effects

As for rainy weather, water drops are now affected by camera angle movement and vehicle acceleration on the camera lens. Players have the ability to tweak the lens drop style using the ReShade menu. This looks quite impressive in motion. There’s also new volumetric clouds as well.
Night Time Option

Night time too dark for you? The team have added an option calleds Brighter Nights that increases the brightness of objects making it easier to see in the dark. Much like the other effects it can be enabled through the ReShade menu.
Road Updates
As part of their ongoing effort to redo the roads of Los Santos, the team have given the Vespucci, Little Seoul and surrounding areas parallax roads. They’ve also fixed various issues with previously released parallax roads.
Prop Updates

Damage deformation has been given to a variety of props. These range from dumpsters, garbage bins, electric boxes, bus stops and more. The damage can be inflicted by both weapons and vehicles. The team note more props will gain this cosmetic damage feature in upcoming updates. The physics of this quite good.
Meanwhile lanterns around Little Seoul have been added and various neon signs around the map have been remade. On the vegetation front, new hedges have been put in whilst hedges already found around Los Santos have been redone. Additionally, the Olive tree has been reworked with improved collision and shape as part of this vegetation overhaul.
Los Santos Airport and Ponsonbys Redone

A brand new fake interior has been given to the Los Santos Airport which looks great. You’ll also notice all Ponsonbys locations have had their lighting reworked, new textures, props and more. This is part of the ‘Extra Content Pack’ for Platinum Supporters.
NVE Classic

With this mod being so performance heavy, the developers have crafted a lite version for both FiveM and Single Player. This branch of NVE offers a graphics upgrade over base GTA V but at a fraction of the performance cost as the fully-fledged mod. This is achieved by only changing some visuals. For example, you don’t get all of the texture and model changes or volumetric clouds.
rens for emergency vehicles and tire skids. This is an optional add-on.
