GTA V was the 9th best selling game last week in the UK in terms of disc sales. This month saw the next gen disc re-release of Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S and it is proving to be hugely successful for Rockstar Games.
As reported by gamesindustry.biz using data released by GfK, GTA V launched into 9th place last week. The week prior it was down in 16th position. Despite many more recent releases such as the mega hits LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga and Elden Ring, GTA V is still holding its own. Unlike those new games, GTA V was first releases almost 9 years ago.
What had an impact on this chart?
Despite releasing the new gen version of GTA V digitally in March, Rockstar Games released the physical disc copy this month. This helped the game to sell a lot more copies but does not make up for every single sale.
