The GTA Trilogy’s remastered mobile version received a new update on April 8th along with an extremely vague set of patch notes. If you can even call it that.
Since releasing on mobile last year in partnership with Netflix, fans have been hoping for more updates to Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. The mobile port retains more of the original feel of the classic games not seen in the PC or console versions. Netflix and Rockstar Games have now released a new update to the long-delayed mobile versions.
The “What’s New” section for the update on the App Store just says either “General fixes and improvements.” or “We’re always working to bring you the best Netflix Games experience. In this release, we’ve made some bug fixes and performance improvements.” Vague, right?
Thankfully, fans in the GTA community got to work on figuring out what exactly the updates to all three games brought.
What the community has discovered

According to Twitter user @saiyambansal100, the updates “Addressed an issue where the resolution would revert back to default settings after altering it”. Another fan @Darealbandicoot noted that new fixes have been made to collision in GTA III, more so when it comes to slopes. Plus, the bazooka will now correctly sit on Claude’s shoulder when being held.
Another GTA community member @videotechuk_ listed that text errors in GTA III for Pay ‘n’ Spray had been resolved along with the Spinning Spunk Can in San Andreas. More things were spotted by @BeskInfinity in regards to a void on a hospital wall in GTA III and removal of a tree and leaves.
As with any update, especially those with no real patch notes, there will likely be far more bug fixes and changes we are not aware of. It is a real shame these fixes have not made their way to the console and PC version of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition yet.
It is appreciated Netflix Games and Rockstar Games are supporting these mobile ports with updates but there are many, many GTA fans who wished the same love would be given to The Trilogy’s DE on Xbox, Switch, PlayStation and PC.

It was revealed in January that these classic titles’ Netflix versions had surpassed 18 million downloads. The streaming service company was very happy with its initial performance out of the gate.

Do we know at this time if the console/pc versions of the ‘definitive editions’ has indeed been abandoned by Rockstar?
Because if that is the case, which seems more and more likely, then Rockstar has screwed over PC and Console players in a way that should never be forgiven!
