Rockstar Games have announced that the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is now available to purchase on Valve’s Steam platform. This marks the end of over a year for exclusivity to the Rockstar Games Launcher. For the past few months we have reported on several pieces of evidence the games are coming to both Steam and the Epic Games Store and Rockstar have now confirmed this to be true.
Now on deck
Rockstar announced the news in a Tweet accompanied with a Newswire post detailing the new launch plans. The remastered trilogy is on Steam to purchase on your PC but also is Steam Deck playable meaning you can play these classic games on the go. The trilogy is also part of the just launched Rockstar publisher sale on Steam. You can save up to 70% on a variety of games from the company including 50% off the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition from now until February 2nd 2023.

Where is Epic?
A few days ago we wrote how BillbilKun on Twitter, whom have a good track record for gaming news, claimed the GTA Trilogy would release on the Epic Games Store today. That is not the case due to a last minute change of plan. Given Rockstar Games themselves have not shared a set release date. They say at the end of their Newswire post it will be releasing later this month. BillbilKun noted the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition will be on a 50% off discount during its first week from release, much like Steam.
Unfortunately, Rockstar Games have not released a patch for these remasters today to fix issues still present throughout the classics.
Will you be picking it up on Steam or the Epic Games Store during this discounted period? Let us know down in the comments. Stay tuned to RockstarINTEL for all news updates on Grand Theft Auto.
