Rockstar Games have loosened their recent restrictions for names of GTA Online organisations. The Bottom Dollar Bounties update came with secret stricter rules for names of organisations and Arena War vehicle names.
For those unaware, this change upset quite a few fans on social media as well as our readers who voiced their frustration. Upon logging into GTA Online, excited to play the new DLC, fans noticed their org’s name or Arena War vehicle names were reset. Whilst some names were rightfully removed, others which make sense in the context of GTA felt a bit too restrictive to players.
For example, Reddit user 7joetaylor noticed their organisation “Drugs ‘n’ Stuff” had lost its name after 8 years of service. It was reset to “An Organization”. They tried changing it back but the game would not allow it due to the word drugs. A conversation about how an 18+ game involving crime such as drugs would not let players use the word drugs ensued.
Rockstar reverses restrictions
However, it seems like Rockstar Games have now removed some of the words from the blocklist. The company released a new GTA Online update yesterday and whilst the patch notes don’t mention any org name changes, fans are reporting they can use their old organisation’s name.
Twitter user @S73VNN let us know that their organisation was previously called “Gays With Guns!” and the Bottom Dollar Bounties update reset it to “An Organization”. Following Thursday’s patch, the name could be used once again.
GTA Online players will be pleased to know they can now use their old names that they felt were unfairly reset once again. You can also read the full patch notes for the latest GTA Online update from Rockstar Games here.
Rockstar looking after their community

Why don’t you guys talk about the RASICM that’s online and why they had to restrict names in the game in the first place
Finally, fuck. It blew my mind when it got reset to default and I couldn’t fix it. I could name it “Just” or “Ducky” but not “Just Ducky”
I’VE QUIT TO PLAY GTAO FOR OVER A YEAR NOW AFTER MANY YEARS OF ENJOYING IT. ONE CAN ONLY PLAY ONE GAME FOR SO LONG AND THEN U SURELY HAVE TO MOVE ON LOL. BY DOING SO I’VE FREED MYSELF FROM THE RULES AND RESTRICTIONS OF RS GAMES, RS NORTH AS WELL AS TAKE TWO. ANY ONLINE GAME HAS IT’S ONW Ts & Cs AS WE KNOW AND BY ADEHERING TO THOSE RULES U GIVE YOUR PERMISSION TO BE RULED N RESTRICED BY SUCH GAMING COMPANIES. HENCE IF YOU DON’T LIKE IT, THEN THE ONLY VIABLE ALTERNATIVE IS NOT TO PLAY ONLINE GAMES AT ALL AND ONLY STICK TO OFFLINE GAMING. AFTER OVER 30YRS OF GAMING I’VE TONED DOWN THE ONLINE MODE OF THIS HOBBY DUE TO VARIOUS REASONS, E.G TOXIC ENVIORMENT AT TIMES AS WELL AS RESTRICTIONS. AND AT THE AGE OF 60YRS OLD I PREFER THE COOL AND CALM OPTION OF ENJOYING SINGLE PLAYER MODE GAMES FOR THE MOST PART. WOULD I BE INCLINED TO PLAY GTA6 ONLINE IN FUTURE OR ANY OTHER ONLINE GAME, I GUESS SO. BUT NOT AT THE PACE I USE TO PLAY IT IN THE PAST.
