The upcoming GTA Online Money Fronts DLC is now available to download ahead of its official release on Tuesday June 17th. Much like how the previous 4 updates could be downloaded, Rockstar Games have done the same here with this summer’s big GTA Online update. There is a difference this time around though which we’ll get into below…
Update June 17th:
The GTA Online Money Fronts update is now live for everyone on all platforms. You can find out more info on the download sizes here and the main update here.
What Is A Pre-Load?
This update can only be downloaded on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles. You can’t play the new update either. It is simply just to save you time so you can play as soon as the content goes live.
This is the first time Rockstar Game have allowed the pre-download of an update ahead of release on Xbox. Microsoft has been testing this feature of the past year so it is nice to see Rockstar introduce this option to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One players. However, PS4 has been excluded this time unlike the past few times. It is unknown why Rockstar chose to now allow PS4 users to pre-load this update.

Head to the updates section on your eligible console and the Money Fronts download will appear. It will say pre-download. Upon the download completing, you’ll still be able to play GTA V and GTA Online as usual.
When Will Money Fronts Release?
As for PC and PS4 users, they’ll unfortunately have to wait until the official release of the DLC at 10am BST on June 17th to start downloading. We’ll cover their download sizes once they are available. PC players will get the update across Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Rockstar Games Launcher moments later. PlayStation lists the 1.009 update as installable from 10am UK time on Tuesday, as we expected.
The first time a pre-load happened for a GTA Online update was in summer 2023 with the San Andreas Mercenaries update. This continued with The Chop Shop that December, Bottom Dollar Bounties in June last year and Agents of Sabotage in December 2024. All of four of these patches were able to be downloaded 48 hours early by PlayStation users.
Download Size

The GTA Online Money Fronts pre-load was first spotted by Gtamen. They posted a screenshot of the update being downloaded on PlayStation 5. It comes in at around 3GB on PS5 and 3.59 GB on Xbox One. Meanwhile on Xbox Series X|S it is 4.66GB. In comparison to the Agents of Sabotage update, it is around half the size on PS5 and on Xbox Series consoles it was 13.19GB.
