Mansions in GTA Online become decorated for a few special events and we’ll be taking a look at all of the different options and when it will activate. As part of the A Safehouse in the Hills update, players can finally purchase large, luxury homes. Whilst they come fully furnished and can be customised with a lot of options, Rockstar have hidden a few makeovers within the game files.
Three of the makeovers will occur for everyone at the same time whilst another one is unique to your GTA Online character. As spotted by dataminer @Lucas7yoshi_RS, there are three seasonal variations of the mansion interiors.
Halloween Mansion
Firstly, let’s take a look at the Halloween variant which you can see below. Pumpkins will show up with other decorations in the main area. Given that we are past Halloween now, this one will not be active until before Halloween next year. This also means you’ll be able to experience it before GTA 6 comes out
Christmas Mansion
Next up are the Christmas decorations. As you can see from the photo below, a Christmas tree with presents underneath and lights will be found within your living area. You won’t have to wait long before this is active. This will likely come within this week’s new Event Week on Thursday.
Chinese New Year Mansion
Another holiday Rockstar always celebrates in GTA Online is Chinese New Year. Next year will be no different. During February to March, you can expect to see Chinese lanterns hanging from this lounge area as seen below.
Birthday Mansion
Lastly, your mansion’s bar/kitchen will see a special makeover that is unique to your character in game. On your character’s birthday, your mansion’s kitchen will receive a happy birthday banner, balloons and more. Plus, your AI assistant will wish you a happy birthday. This is a nice touch and you can see it in action below.
Of course, everyone’s character has a different birthday so this can occur on any day. With this being limited to the kitchen, this allows for no clashing of decorations. You’ll be able to celebrate your birthday with these decorations during Christmas, Halloween and Chinese New Year.
Some people may be able to experience this fairly soon or people like myself that use a day one character from 2013 have to wait until next October. This is yet another special birthday feature Rockstar have implemented. The additional clothing items that you can get on your character’s birthday can be found here.
