GTA Online Casino Heist Disabled Due To Exploit

Rockstar Games have disabled the ability to plan The Diamond Casino Heist in GTA Online. This is a temporary solution to a major exploit occurring in-game right now for PC players.

The inability to start planning The Diamond Casino Heist in GTA Online was revealed by Rockstar insider Tez2. He took to Twitter and shared the change Rockstar made in GTA Online’s backend. He said that “Casino Heist Planning has been temporarily disabled on PC to address a critical exploit.”

This means players on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 will be able to plan The Diamond Casino Heist and are not vulnerable to the exploit.

Many fans love to play The Diamond Casino Heist in GTA Online so it is a real shame to see it “removed” from play even for just a few days or weeks. Rockstar may have to release a patch that players will need to download and that might not be a speedy process. Thankfully the latest event week does not have any bonuses and such linked to it. Setting up an Arcade property was also disabled as part of measures to combat the exploit.

Given the apparent severity of the exploit, it is understandable why Rockstar took strong action against the Casino Heist which seems to have been the root of said exploit.

Rockstar Games release statement

Following the disabling of the casino heist and arcade set up, Rockstar Games shared a statement on their support site. It reads as follows:

Why are you making this temporary change?

We have made a temporary change to GTA Online on PC to protect players from an identified vulnerability. We’re continuing to monitor the issue and will update this article as needed.

How does this impact players?

GTA Online PC players will not be able to access Casino Heists or setup the Arcade Property until a permanent fix is in place. We will update players as soon as more information is available.

Major exploit ruins GTA Online accounts

The exploit in question appears to let hackers remove money and other major changes to GTA Online accounts on the PC version. This can also involve taking remote control of the victims PC. Yes, full access. Some players in the GTA Forums reported such incidents this week.

Playing in closed sessions such as invite only lobbies are totally safe from this exploit. Hopefully, all sessions will be now The Diamond Casino Heist planning has been disabled.

If you have been affected by this exploit or any other in GTA Online, be sure to contact Rockstar Support.
