Rockstar Games have tightened their restrictions on names for GTA Online organisations. The latest GTA Online DLC, Bottom Dollar Bounties, came with a hefty patch. A lot of the changes were listed by the company in the patch notes but one omission is stricter rules for names of organisations and hiding Arena War vehicle names.
How we know this change has occurred is because several players have logged into GTA Online and found their organisation name has been reset. At first, some players thought this was a bug. However, they attempted to change the name back to what they previously had and the system does not allow them to have that name anymore.
Drug is a banned word in a crime game with drugs
Frustrated community members have taken to Reddit as spotted by GTA Focal and Twitter. Reddit user 7joetaylor noticed their organisation of 8 years called “Drugs ‘n’ Stuff” had lost its name and was reset to “An Organization”. They tried changing it back but the game would not allow it due to the word drugs. This led to a discussion among players were were annoyed to find an 18+ game involving crime get censored in this way.
Similar restrictions also appear to have come to Arena War vehicle names. Reddit user Doomchan said these vehicles no longer display the custom names to other players. A Twitter user named @G4ME_H4CK said they lost 5 organisation names since the Bottom Dollar Bounties update. This specific player had used symbols and such to bypass the blacklist of words but Rockstar have smartened up and removed these names.
Another user also reported their org names were reset too. These sort of rule changes have made some fans wonder if GTA 6 will be the most restrictive GTA yet in terms of chat, custom names, and more.

This is not the first time Rockstar Games have clamped down on things happening in GTA Online. Earlier this year, they fully rolled out a new voice-chat moderation system powered by AI. This is to help combat abuse and such in multiplayer sessions. Also, Rockstar Games introduced new community guidelines alongside this voice moderation integration.

Lmao “woke” it’s not woke at all. Rockstar have always had a stance against players using profanity and other similar words, they’ve just stopped people naming their businesses and vehicles things like the hard R or “I r@ped ur sister” with the word “drugs” being on the extreme end of banned words.
This is ridiculous, I’m done with GTA 5. How many updates have been about selling and manufacturing drugs. How hypocritical of rockstar games. Its a game for 18+ so why are they worrying about this garbage. Maybe they should focus on making so new ORIGINAL content instead of just copy and pasting the same content over and over again. Boo to you Rockstar games you make a game for adults only, then treat your fan base like children.

Womanizing. I’m the game i still meth, Coke and weed from my designated areas bought within the game. This game is literally a bucket of vile puke. Rockstar destroyed RdR2. Especially with the trash pvp, trash updateb that made it visually unplayable for anyone with 240hz monitor.

They have allowed cheaters in God mode grief lobbies to no end without any issues. Wall hacks

They could have fixed competitive cheating. But no… Ban Bad words in a game constantly using profanities slurs of all sorts..
Anything that censors speech is morally wrong, you dont have to agree with what a person says, you dont have to like whats being said, you dont even have to respect the person saying, but you should not under any circumstances get to demand it be censored. If someone wants to walk through the street yelling niggerkikefuckcuntsrapeyoursisterupherasshole they should be free to do so even though it makes them a complete piece of shit. Your job as an adult is to decide what kindof media and language and content you want to associate with, not to decide what everyone else can say do think or feel. Especially in an 18+ rated video game where theres absolutely no excuse for anyone to be offended or harmed by mere words because everyone playing SHOULD BE an adult and adults SHOULD BE capable of handling words. If you are incapable of handling words or are allowing your child to play a mature rated video game then thats on you and you need to do better. Dont go at everyone elses right to express themselves freely just because you are too much of a fucking pussy to handle it or are a shitty parent.

Just noticed today my Shenan!gans got yeeted but I was able to change it to rock-star sucks.
They “fixed” that stuff, but still let people glitch into God mode and grief whole lobbies. Rockstar needs to get their heads out of their assessment and fix the things that are making people leave their lobbies.
Another incredibly stupid move towards many more incredibly stupid moves by old Rockstar. How about getting rid of modders that ruin online lobbies for everyone else, instead of crying over words? No, no… we don’t want to do that. We care more about words hurting peoples’ feelings, and finding new ways to monetize the online experience for GTA 6, which will also likely be ruined by unpoliced modding. Rockstar are scum.
