Screenshots of the new age verification menus coming to GTA Online have leaked. This comes days after code for a new age verification system was found within GTA V files. Now it is almost ready to go public.
Since covering the datamined age verification system last week, fake warning messages began circulating around social media. This worried fans that age verification was already active in GTA Online. These messages were 100% fake and we reported last week the systems were not in place yet. As and when it is brought into GTA Online, we’ll be sure to cover the news right here at RockstarINTEL.
Rockstar Games dataminer Tez2 who originally found the age verification code has since made a new discovery. He posted screenshots of what the age verification menus will look like in-game once it has gone live.
Below, you can see the main menu of GTA Online for PC with an age block. Before being able to log into a server, players will be asked to verify their age.

In the game’s settings menu, there is an “Additional Settings” submenu. In there, it will state if your age has been verified and if you have access to GTA Online, in-game store and Snapmatic uploads.

Another screenshot Tez shared is what will be the QR code hosting screen for age verification. It currently only displays an error due to the service not being activated by Rockstar. When it is, players will be taken to a similar page that has a QR code. Scanning that will take them to a service that will verify their age from a variety of different ways.

This is not the first time Rockstar have censored GTA V. In 2021, the company blocked all sex related animations and changed the GTA Online suicide gun animation to a pills death in Japan.
If you’re wondering why age verification is even coming to an 18+ rated game, Rockstar are under pressure to comply with new laws such as the UK’s implementation of the Online Safety Act. Other European countries are currently testing age verification before a wider roll out. Those countries are France, Spain, Italy, Denmark and Greece. More are expected to follow. We dive into the situation more here.
This follows Rockstar Games removing many of the social features that made Social Club, well, social. Walls, viewing player profiles and more have all been disabled. Learn more about the situation here.

I’m happy there doing this as unfit parents are letting underage children play a game where you kill people with guns make it make sense clearly unfit to parent any children
