GTA 6 is going to be a blockbuster hit but there are still some negative questions surrounding its release. These have been answered by the top boss of Rockstar Games‘ parent company in a bid to squash concerns.
In a new interview with The Game Business, Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick says he is unsure where GTA Online’s revenue and player numbers will go once GTA VI comes out. Even with some uncertainty ahead, he still believes the game will do well. Note: no multiplayer component has even been mentioned for Grand Theft Auto VI by Rockstar Games even though we all expect there to be one.
“I don’t know where GTA Online performance goes after the release of GTA 6, I have no reason to believe that the performance will not continue.”
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick
As for how the game’s ability to sell more than just copies, Take-Two are confident in it delivering for Xbox and PlayStation. Despite both consoles having multiple price increases since launch due to global issues, Take-Two’s Chief financial officer Lainie Goldstein says “We do think GTA 6 will drive console sales.”

Zelnick does say the cost of consoles will have “some influence” on consumer spending on games like GTA but the same people are “highly interested in interactive entertainment”. Console sales have slowed down a lot and in some regions the sales curve is falling behind last generation. However, if there is a game to sell consoles, this is the one to do it.

I dont see it, too many that made Rockstar what it is have left or they fired them, Dan and Les being two of the bigs. I know other than the looks of the cutscenes the game itself just looks like a shiny GTA5 and Im not liking the story told here. So, nobody is forgetting mr Rockstar is gone doing his own thing, its not going to move the units on consoles or game as the greedy corporate heads and analaysts think.
They better have a concept to connect the two Online versions – at least a switch of maps from GTA VI Online.
I’d expect a possibility to visit the different locations with characters of the other location.
