The first GTA 6 trailer has been recreated by one of the world’s largest broadcasters for this week’s F1 Miami Grand Prix. Despite no news from Rockstar Games in 16 months, hype is still high and companies are continuing to use GTA 6 in their advertising.
GTA VI will feature Vice City, the fictional take on Miami and it was not a surprise to see those within the sport take inspiration from the blockbuster franchise and its upcoming game.
What Happened Last Year
This is not the first time broadcasters have used the trailer in their promotional work for the annual event. Last year, F1 opened the race much like the beach shot seen at the start of the trailer. Plus, when commentators would chime in on the broadcast they had a 3D model with a GTA artstyle appear on screen.

Meanwhile Sky Sports had GTA VI trailer style intro ahead of the qualifying session. With Tom Petty’s Love Is a Long Road playing the background, Sky showed various clips from the weekend and previous Miami GPs complete with various GTA-inspired edits such as WASTED, overlaying the HUD and social media footage like in the official trailer. It ended with a GTA-stylised logo too.

This game is simply on another level compared to anything else in entertainment. This causes confusion among fans as some believe Rockstar are involved and or will release a new trailer. That is not the case at all. So much so that Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, hit Sky Sports with a copyright takedown last year.
History Repeats Itself

Much like Sky, France’s broadcaster of F1 Canal have entered the ring this year with their own take on the GTA VI trailer. Kicking off the advertisement for their coverage of this week’s race, the company showed a half minute recreation of the trailer.
It featured the music and opened with a similar shot as the qualifying beach shot from last year. Various close ups of fans and celebrities are shown plus some feature the square aspect ratio social media style shots as seen in Rockstar’s own trailer.
The teaser ends with the same animation as the real trailer but instead of the GTA VI logo it is the F1 logo. The coming 2025 text is also the exact race date, May 4th 2025. You can watch the short teaser here.

That is not all though. The Stake F1 Team KICK Sauber shared a video on their social media on Monday teasing a new livery for this week’s Grand Prix. The video is a 3D render of a building similar to GTA V’s Los Santos Customs and the HUD notification saying “Welcome to Miami Customs. Here you can customise your vehicle.” It will be interesting to see what other GTA VI-inspired promos we get over the course of this week.
Drivers Share Their Thoughts
Ferrari’s F1 drivers Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc shared their love for GTA V in a new video. On the official Ferrari F1 YouTube channel, the pair were tasked to rank their favourite games. They both immediately put GTA V as the best game. Charles said the game is “so good” and Lewis responded with “it’s the best game”.

They then talked about GTA 6. “The new one of this is coming out soon. We’re gonna have to quit everything else we do” says the 7 time world champion and Charles said “it’s coming out very soon actually” and he “can’t wait” for it.
