A new year and month’s worth of chart data is in from Google, PlayStation and more sources. Red Dead Redemption 2 has continued to dominate downloads whilst GTA V struggles and GTA VI surprises some people.
GTA 6 Trending
As it is the end of the year, Google have revealed their Year in Search 2025 lists. The world’s most popular search engine has given out the top 10 searches across a number of different categories both globally and by country.
Despite GTA 6 being the most anticipated game of all time and Trailer 2 dropping in May, it did not make the top spot on Google’s search list. “Grand Theft Auto 6” achieved 7th place. Arc Raiders and Battlefield 6 took the top two positions. For comparison, GTA 6 has never previously entered the top 10 despite Trailer 1 breaking records in 2023. Even in the United States specific chart, it did not make the top 10 this year either.
GTA V Struggles Ahead Of Mansion Update
PlayStation shared their monthly game charts this week for PS5, PS4, PSVR and F2P game downloads throughout November.
During October, GTA V was in 4th place for the Europe chart and 10th in the USA and Canada. However, GTA V dropped two places to 6th in the European chart for November. In contrast, it gained two places in the US/Canada and was the 8th most downloaded game there. The data reveals the opposite of what happened in October.
A similar story can be seen in the PS4 charts. It moved up from 7th to 5th in the North American chart. Whereas it slipped from 4th to 6th in Europe.
Red Dead Redemption 2 Cannot Be Topped

Red Dead Redemption 2 had yet another incredible month. In November, it was the most downloaded PS4 game in the US/Canada but also across Europe. This is the 5th month in a row after a two month stint in 2nd for the North American chart. Red Dead 2 has now been the most downloaded game 9 months out of 11 this year. It was second in the European chart the month prior so last month it over took EA Sports FC 26.
With the release of the PS5 version of the game coming out on December 2nd, people got into the first game moon. Red Dead Redemption was the 6th most downloaded game in the US and Canada. Meanwhile it slotted in at 19th in Europe.
Sales Data
We also have some sales data coming in for Europe for the week ending November 16th via The Game Business from GSD. In terms of copies sold, GTA V was the 6th best selling game when physical and digital copies were combined. Red Dead Redemption 2 came in 9th.
As for the month of October sales in the US, GTA V was the 19th best selling game down from 17th place according to Circana. Red Dead Redemption 2 remained in 20th for the 2nd month in a row. GTA V is now the 17th best selling game of 2025 so far.
