GTA 6 is currently still targeting a release in Fall 2025 but Rockstar have remained silent for over a year now. There are a few key dates we know of to keep an eye on when it comes to GTA VI and Rockstar Games in general.
When Will We Get GTA 6 News?
Rockstar Games will typically put out big news about their upcoming games in the form of a trailer for example just before Take-Two Interactive’s quarterly earnings reports. They are the parent company of Rockstar Games. It does not happen every quarter as we’ve gone through 3 quarterly earnings reports and no news from Rockstar.
However, we are now in the targeted release year of the game and there has been zero updates on the game since its reveal in December 2023. There is a growing feeling the first quarterly earnings report of 2025 for Take-Two will come along with an update on GTA 6 be it a trailer, screenshots or a delay to 2026. If there is a delay, Take-Two need to let investors know soon as there will be a significant change in their forecasted earnings.
As for when Take-Two’s next earnings report will be, the company confirmed a date in a press release in January. The Q3 2025 report and call will take place on Thursday February 6th. The live conference call will occur at 4:30pm ET. The following quarter’s report date should be around May 18th.
New GTA Online Updates And PC Upgrades
This could be the final year of GTA Online in GTA V in terms of proper support. There’s still a bunch of dripfeed content to come as part of the Agents of Sabotage DLC but bigger things are yet to come. Rockstar confirmed late last year they would finally be bringing PS5 and Xbox Series X|S exclusive features over to PC. This will occur at some point in “the new year” say Rockstar so for now we’ll just have to wait for more information.
There is a good chance Rockstar will still have the usual Summer content update for GTA Online. This should release in June or July based on previous years. If GTA VI is pushed from Fall 2025 to 2026, perhaps we’ll see another Winter update in December too.
Rockstar Games Exiting Services
Rockstar currently have a couple of titles in various subscription services and these will leave their platforms at some point this year. GTA V and GTA Online entered PlayStation Plus in November. Every time a Rockstar title enters this service it remains in it for 6 months max. This means it should leave PS+ at the end of May.
The Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition version of GTA San Andreas is currently included in an active Netflix subscription. The streaming service lost the right to dish out GTA Vice City and GTA III in November last year after a year of being part of the membership. It is unknown how long GTA San Andreas will remain in Netflix but something worth keeping an eye on.
Rockstar Games Data
As for game sales, downloads and player count charts, these typically come in after the first week of the month for the previous month. PlayStation usually report their download figures first. This is followed by the UK sales data. The European chart is closely behind most months. The USA purchase data comes in and around the third week of a month. Some interesting player count charts may come in a little earlier. All of the relevant Rockstar Games data will be shared in an article for the month. You can view all of our past chart reporting here.
Max Payne Remake Updates
Unlike Rockstar, Remedy are extremely transparent about their development cycles and progress. Each quarter, the company shares informative financial and other business updates on all of their projects with investors and the public.
The next time Remedy will share financial reports will be on February 2nd. This typically occurs early in the morning for Europe. This is when we’ll next hear about the Max Payne 1&2 Remake. Following this, Remedy have their 2024 Annual Report release pencilled in for March 10th with the Annual General Meeting taking place on April 10th. A business review of the first quarter of the year should release on April 30th.
