Rockstar Games have been not only hard at work on GTA 6 from a game perspective but also the marketing. Even though we’ve almost nothing aside from two trailers, this will dramatically change in the coming months and there’s a few little teasers of what’s to come.
Following Take-Two Interactive’s Q3 2026 earnings report on Tuesday, CEO Strauss Zelnick visited CNBC’s Mad Money with Jim Cramer for an interview. He was asked a variety of questions but of course GTA 6 fans were only wanting to hear him talk about GTA 6.
During the interview, Cramer called GTA VI the “greatest entertainment vehicle of all time” so which Strauss agreed with. The host said he wanted to be sure the the November date is still good. Zelnick was quick to state November 19th showing his confidence in the date.
Following this, the CEO was asked by Cramer how does one know if it will be ready for that release date? Zelnick said it was obvious because they monitor the development progress made by Rockstar every single day.
Additionally, he doubled down on saying that there will be marketing beats coming this summer for the game. This is something that was revealed to us during the recent earnings filings. Zelnick ended on saying “we don’t spend money on marketing until we’re pretty close to release.”
“It is a challenge. We want the product to be authentically owned by our consumers and so the marketing has to be delicate. It has to feel like this is real. We’re not selling hamburgers. We’re selling this unique artform.” – Strauss
Exciting Things To Come

More quotes from Zelnick on the game’s marketing can be found in Tuesday’s earnings call with investors. Take-Two’s top boss answered a question from an investor who wondered just how much marketing needs to be done for the biggest entertainment launch of all time?
Well, Strauss had a lengthy response. Firstly, he noted the companies are not going to “sit back and relax” but are teams in ” the business of eating red meat for breakfast” with “a lot more red meat in the coming months”.
Interestingly, he assures the investor and everyone else that we’ll be “pretty astonished by the creativity that Rockstar’s marketing team brings to consumers in the coming months”. Every GTA fan cannot wait to see what Rockstar have planned. We should expect to see billboards and the like plastered in GTA VI materials worldwide. However, we’re in a new age of marketing now.
