A current Rockstar Games employee working on GTA 6 has leaked a significant amount of details regarding what is happening inside the studio. This comes after days of protests by recently axed employees and a 6 month delay to the game. Rockstar Games shared late on Thursday GTA 6 will now be launching in November 2026 plus a slew of GTA Online news updates.
An anonymous developer under the username “Organize” posted a long, in-depth look inside Rockstar on the GTA Forums shortly after the delay announcement. This source working on the game verified their identify with GTA Forums staff proving they are a legitimate Rockstar Games employee of several years and union member.
Firing Details
The developer starts off by saying it is “particularly concerning” how many GTA fans are choosing to believe Rockstar and Take-Two’s excuses for the recent firings. After this, the dev elaborated on the way the 34 developers were fired. We heard at the protests those that the company had targeted were asked for a “short friendly meeting” before being handed a letter stating they had been fired.
This anonymous staff member claims no evidence was provided by Rockstar for the firings. This also came with the refusal for the developer’s right to Union representation at this meeting. The person notes this is actually against UK labour law. Following this, it is alleged they were forcibly removed from the office.
As for the employees not present at Rockstar’s offices that day, a short phone call was made by HR. The dev going under the name Organize continues by saying one of the affected developers had a panic attack when on the phone to HR. In response, HR hung ended the phone call.

Making Matters Worse
Who were these 34 developers? Well, it is said these are exemplary, trouble-free “hard workers” that have had careers spanning nearly two decades at Rockstar. Their roles covered many different areas of games development ranging from senior artists to designers, producers and even department leads. Replacements for these people will not be easy given their talent and wealth of experience. The source sharing this info claims it will impact making deadlines.
Union Action
Going back to why Rockstar fired these employees, “Organize” says just two weeks ago the Union forming had achieved 200 members. This meets the criteria to be recognised and start conversations with upper management about problems facing the workers.
As we expected, “worsening crunch” is one of the key issues. “Inflexible working arrangements” is listed alongside this and “inadequate pay”. With this not being addressed by the company and apparent union busting tactics being deployed, current employees are working in “fear” they will be fired next. The source says “Morale in the studio is at rock bottom.” They are scared to even acknowledge the protests and situation.
“When we should be excited about what’s to come over the next year we are now totally deflated and our trust and confidence in others is totally shot.
All of our ambition was to make R* a happier, fairer, safer and more equitable place. That’s all. What has happened clearly shows that we care more about the wellbeing of our colleagues at Rockstar than the Company does.”
A fundraiser has been setup to help support those that have lost their jobs. If you’d like to donate, you can do so here.
