The self-titled “Florida Joker” is back with another set of threats and demands towards Rockstar Games. Legally named Lawrence Sullivan went viral after calling out Rockstar over a character that has some similar features in the GTA VI trailer.
This time he has upped the money wanted to $10m and claims he wants to free the teen hacker and hack their systems. The man has posted several TikTok videos over the past week or so and we’ll be going through all of the outrageous things that have been said.
He’s not stopping
At the end of last year, he issued a final warning saying he visited Miami and by his birthday (January 11th) he wants a response from Rockstar. Otherwise, he claims legal action will be taken. In the same video he upped his request of $2m to $5m.
In the same week Mr Sullivan released a TikTok pretending his is a GTA character and used the San Andreas in-game HUD and theme music overlaid on his video. Another video posted shows what appears to be a GTA themed music video he acted in and features on the track.
The Florida Joker gives his final, final, final warning
Spotted by Insider Gaming, Lawrence Sullivan released a brand new with more talk. He comes into frame after hiding behind a bush. The man sports an orange jail outfit and a bib that has the words “GTA we gotta talk” printed on it.
The Florida Joker claims that due to the “harassment” he’s received from his likeness being “used” in the GTA VI trailer, he wants damages. He goes onto say for a month now there has been “free publicity” given to GTA VI by him.
The total amount in damages he wants to be paid is $10 million for “defamation of my character ” plus “suffering and pain”. On top of that, he wants a response by January 14th, 3 days after his birthday. The final warnings and deadlines keep changing.
When’s GTA ever made the news? Never.
The Florida Joker
To end the video, Mr Sullivan claims he’ll “break that kid out” meaning the teenager who was recently sentenced to an indefinite hospital order for hacking Rockstar Games and leaking GTA VI gameplay. The Florida Joker offers to get the teen a laptop to “hack into your system again”.
We’ll see how Take-Two’s legal team deal with this one as usually these go in the favour of Take-Two and Rockstar Games.
