After months of silence, we have an update on FiveM for GTA V Enhanced. The Cfx.re team published a blog post on Wednesday giving a highly requested update on the project. First announced a year ago, little has been said since then angering fans. Now we are getting closer to its release.
In the latest development update, the team make their ambitions clear. It is not a simple port of FiveM to the new version of GTA V. They have also looked to redo core parts of the platform from scratch. This begins with a closer integration with Grand Theft Auto V and the Rockstar Games Launcher. These changes have led to improved performance and stability.
Performance Improvements
One of the core parts of FiveM that has been remade is the network synchronization. Server owners will see a reduction in bandwidth, CPU, and memory consumption with equivalent player counts. Meanwhile players will experience increased stability, lower CPU usage, and the potential for higher frame rates and more. Problems such as bullet hole and dead bodies not syncing correctly have been rectified.

Existing Script Support And Changes
GTAV Enhanced for FiveM will feature backward compatibility for existing scripts. All existing features and natives that FiveM currently supports made in Lua, JavaScript, or C# will work for in the latest version of the game.
Interestingly, parts of FiveM will no longer be open source. Cfx.re note that some parts of the FiveM codebase will be locked down. The reason behind this is for a “more stable and maintainable implementation and a stronger long-term foundation for the platform.”
Release Date?
In terms of a release date, there is still no specific date. However, Cfx.re claim it GTA V Enhanced support for FiveM will be out “in the coming months.” There will be a roll out starting with an early access version for server owners to offer feedback. FiveM compatibility with GTAV Enhanced will be available to anyone who wants to utilize it for their FiveM servers.
