Legendary Rockstar Games producer Leslie Benzies has his first game coming out since his shocking exit from company in 2016 and fans have spotted a potential reference to a Rockstar Games classic in its new trailer.
The man who helped wrangle the tumultuous horse that was Red Dead Redemption and planted the seeds for GTA Online’s decade plus long success brings hype to his new project: MindsEye. Developed by Build A Rocket Boy, it is a cinematic, single player, action game that releases on June 10th for current gen consoles and PC. The latest trailer for the project shows off the premise with detailed cinematics.
However, there was one thing that a fan spotted which brought back nostalgia. Twitter user @minefa5 pointed out there is a shot of a red car on the left and a white one on the right. This is the same colours and positions as the Midnight Club 3: Dub Edition cover, a game made by Rockstar Games. Below you can see a comparison of both Midnight Club 3’s cover and the shot from the MindsEye trailer.

GTA V Connection
This could be intentional or just an happy coincidence however the same thing has been done before. During our intro to Franklin and Lamar in GTA V, we see them take two cars. During the mission, the pair make a stop. On the left, is a red one, on the right is a white one. Below is a screenshot from GTA V.

That’s now 3 instances of this showing up. GTA V was the last game Leslie Benzies worked on before being fired by Rockstar Games during a sabbatical. Coincidence? I think not!
Do you think this was intentional by the former Rockstar Games producer and studio president? Let us know down in the comments section below. Also are you excited for his new game? It is not open world as some fans had hoped it would be given his history of incredible open world titles during his time at Rockstar.
