Ahead of GTA 6, there has been a lot of talk about AI and we’ve seen people create GTA-looking content with various models. However, they are not GTA 6 despite what Elon Musk thinks. Take-Two Interactive’s CEO Strauss Zelnick (head of Rockstar’s parent company) has hit back at Musk’s thoughts on AI making GTA 6 before Rockstar releases it.
First spotted by Twitter user @GTAGolden_, Zelnick took part in a conversation at the Semafor World Economy 2026 last week. AI was a topic in this talk and Zelnick shared lots of thoughts on it involving technology and gaming.
Interestingly, the CEO took a couple of shots at Elon Musk. You can read the transcript of his full quote below.
“If AI were going to get rid of employment, the richest man on earth, Elon Musk, knows a little something about AI last time I checked. He has unlimited financial resources and he has unlimited human resources and he has apparently an unlimited number of ideas. He knows his way around AI.
The man works 20 hours a day. Like, if AI were to take anyone’s job, wouldn’t it take his job? like the richest guy on earth. Wouldn’t that be like job number one for AI to take? Why is he so busy? And by the way, why am I working harder than ever despite the fact that I totally accepted AI into every part of my life?

This comes after Elon’s thoughts on GTA 6 did the rounds. At the start of this year, GTA hater and alleged fake gamer Elon Musk was in agreement that GTA 6 could be made almost instantly with AI. Despite many people thinking he is genius, the world’s richest man actually believes a model (likely trained on stolen art and data) could produce the equivalent of human- crafted entertainment.
“I mean, in fairness, if you were going to choose a person who were a simulation, like he (Elon Musk) would be my number one choice.”

Of course, GTA VI will not compete with AI models. Talented humans can only create entertainment like Rockstar puts out.
