One of the original creators of the Grand Theft Auto series and one of the first founders of Rockstar North has received a Lifetime Achievement for his work in the Videogame Industry.

Mike Dailly who was the original founders of DMA Design Limited (Now known as Rockstar North) was handed the ‘Lifetime Achievement’ award at the Scottish Game Week last night for his contribution towards the gaming industry and how he changed it.
Mike founded DMA Design (Rockstar North) in 1989 along side 3 of his friends, Steve Hammond, Russell Kay and David Jones, where they went and released a puzzle Strategy game called Lemmings. Mike was known for creating the game engine that the first Grand Theft Auto title ran on. He then helped the company with Grand Theft Auto 2 before leaving DMA Designs completely in 1999 to focus on new projects.
For the Lifetime Achievement Award, there was people who were given the chance to win it. Mike Dailly who won it, Chris Sawyer who created Transport Tycoon and Rollercoaster Tycoon and finally Paul Farley who is the CEO/Founder of Firestoke Games and Tag Games known for releasing titles such as Angry Birds Action! and Planet Cube Edge. Paul also worked at DMA Design (Rockstar North) from 1994 – 1997 helping program and design missions in the first Grand Theft Auto game.
Congratulations to Mike Dailly on winning the awards and congratulations to Paul Farley and Chris Sawyer and being runner ups to the award. All three of them have had a massive impact on the gaming industry in different ways and we can for sure say that Videogames wouldnt have come as far as they have without the impact any of them have had since 1989.
