Rockstar Games have decided to end support for various versions of iOS. This might surprise some fans but the company have made a larger push into the mobile space in recent years with some significant launches and updates. It will be a bigger deal than some might think.
In a new Rockstar Support article spotted by Tex2, Rockstar say they will be ending support for all their titles on devices running anything older than iOS 17. September 18th 2023, this version of Apple’s mobile OS is still used by a lot of people thanks to its wide support by the Cupertino-based company.
In recent times, Rockstar have put Red Dead Redemption and the GTA Trilogy remastered on mobile devices opening the door to new ways to play these classic games. Additionally, older mobile ports such as Bully, Max Payne, San Andreas and more got unexpected updates in the past year or so. A long list of titles such as some of those mentioned above plus Liberty City Stories and Chinatown Wars are also included in GTA+ to be played on mobile.

Why can’t I update or play my Rockstar Games title on my iOS device?
Support for Rockstar Games titles on iOS requires iOS version 17 or greater. Devices with iOS version 16 or below will no longer receive game updates, and you may encounter issues that we will be unable to provide technical support for.
Will I still be able to play my Rockstar Games iOS titles if I do not upgrade to iOS version 17?
While you will be able to download and play your Rockstar Games titles on versions before iOS version 17, further updates to our games will not be available, and we will not be able to provide technical support.
