Rockstar Games have just banned Australian players from using GTA Online’s gambling features. This move has caused quite a stir within the GTA Online community especially among those down under.
It raises questions about the future of Rockstar Games’ titles and the implication is that if there is any gambling features in GTA 6 those will also be banned in the country.
If you play GTA Online in Australia, attempting to spin the lucky wheel or play a hand of poker will give you a “This feature is not available for you.” notification pop up. Frustrated fans are already taking to social media showing they cannot even spin the lucky wheel anymore despite no real world or in-game cash being used to access it.
As spotted by dataminer and community member Tex2, players based in Australia can no longer take part in these parts of the diamond casino:
- House
- 3 Card Poker
- Inside Track
- The Lucky Wheel
- Black Jack
- Roulette
- Slots

Australia joins a long list of countries that cannot use in-game gambling mechanics and unfortunately this is not on Rockstar. For those unaware, various countries have faster gambling regulations compared to most. Back when The Casino Heist first launched in 2019, dozens of countries including Portugal, Poland and Greece were unable to access the gambling minigames too a varying degree.
Some countries can use the features but are not be able to use in-game money which is from Shark Cards. The game detects two types of Cash, Paid cash, and earned cash, Paid cash is Money purchased through Shark cards, Earned cash is any money you have gained through the games features. The Cashier at the Casino won’t allow you to use ‘Paid cash’ to purchase chips.
