GTA 6 won’t be coming to PC this November but is it not being ruled out, obviously. That’s according to Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick who talked more about GTA 6 in a new interview.
This interview was conducted by Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier who has been the journalist to leak many things about GTA VI over the past several years; all being true. Let’s dive into some interesting quotes from Zelnick’s interview with Schreier that took place last week during the iicon event in Las Vegas.
Console Is The Priority Audience
The CEO was asked about GTA VI coming to PC and why is not there along with consoles this November. Zelnick says what we all know: “Rockstar always starts on console”. However, his belief for this is “you’re judged by serving the core. Like really serving the core consumer. If your core consumer isn’t there, if they’re not served first and best, you kind of don’t hit your other consumers” when it comes to a game at this magnitude.
There were some made up rumours Rockstar is prioritising putting the game on console first due to some sort of contract with PlayStation. Given it is also on Xbox day one, that logic never really made sense. Strauss shut this down by telling us to look at the historic release cadence for Rockstar’s titles.
However, it is important to note that PC gaming has grown significantly in recent years. Zelnick admits himself that back when he took over as Take-Two CEO nearly two decades ago, PC sales might be around 5% of the total install base. That has completely changed to up to half for Take-Two. As we know, GTA V is popular on PC along with things like FiveM. Despite this, Zelnick is not phased. The CEO simply said “We’ll see how it works out”.

During the same interview with Bloomberg, Zelnick revealed his feelings having overseen the game from the business part of development. He went onto say how he believes the game will do something never seen before in history. Learn more here.
The quotes above from Zelnick are not the only interesting things he has said in the past week. During the same event, the CEO doubled down on what he calls an “astonishing” marketing cycle that will be beginning “soon”.
He also addressed pricing concerns after much talk on a $100 cost for the game. It feels like no matter the price of the game, it will break records in a way that may never be broken again. Additionally, the CEO even hinted at a future for another one of Rockstar’s franchises. We’re inching closer to pre-orders opening for GTA VI so stay tuned…
